Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

OBJECTIVES:
            At the end of the lesson, the student will be able to:
a.)    infer shifts in sentences through those given examples;
b.)    reflect on the importance of the guidelines through giving own examples;
c.)    give the necessary corrections needed.

SUBJECT MATTER:
A.)   Topic: Verb tenses and its consistency in English lessons
B.)   CAI Materials: LCD, Laptop

PROCEDURE:
1.      Prayer, greeting, checking of attendance
2.      Motivation
-While showing the students the chart of the Verb Tenses (Past, Present, Future), place markers on the board that will indicate the column for each tense. Ask them to place the given events in the correct column. Write the events on the chart as the students will suggest where they should be placed. Students may also suggest that the certain event will be placed in more than one column.

Present the following events:
PAST
PRESENT
FUTURE
my birth
Presidency of Noynoy Aquino
Batch 2013 graduation
first Philippine president
Date today
Christmas Party this year
first man landing on the moon

Valentines Day 2013
December 2012

Batch 2013-2014

-When the students have placed all the events on the chart, ask some of the students to choose one of the events from one of the columns and compose a sentence/s about it on the paper.
-Ask volunteer to read their sentences and write every verb that is mentioned by the students on the board.

4.      Presentation
      -When there are already ample of verbs on the board, let the students identify the verbs if it was something that happened in the past, present, or the future. Present the chart of the tenses of the verbs.
      -Point out things to consider when writing sentences with verbs.

5.      The teacher will ask the students what are the lessons they learned for the day.


ASSESSMENT

1.      Ask the students to write a paragraph of essay with any title that they like.
2.      Let them consult to you after they have written the paragraph.
3.      Be aware of the patterns that they are using and how they construct their sentences.


ASSIGNMENT

Give guide sentences to your students and let them rewrite the sentences to make it in Past Tense, Present Tense, Future Tense.
